Transcript: Honduras is in the north central part of Central America. Gautamala is to the west, El Salvador is to the south, and Nicoraga is to the east. Honduras is the second largest country in Central America. Tourist attractions- A flight into one of the Bay Islands- The most spectacular view of the richest blue waters. Roatan- Take off your shoes and visit the shops along the beach. Copan Ruinas- spend time in the city square, look over fantastic views and visit Macaw Mountain Bird Park & Nature Reserve. The Goverment type of Honduras is Republic, they are Democratic Constitutional Republic. They gained Independence Sept. 15, 1821 from Spain. Wow factors: Honduras is a spanish word for depths. It is the 2nd poorest country in Central America. Its about the size of Tennessee. A poor city with bannas as main source. Challenges: Exporting is costing more for the country. There is alot of Hurricans that are destroying houses and buildings... Infections are very bad there. How they live: The clothes there are usually hand made and are usually passed down to relatives when to small. Honduras is very good with art like painting. Major foods they eat corn, chicken, potatoes, beans, rice, bannanas, and peppers. Most of the clothes are based on cooled clothes that will be suitble for wearing while working. Timeline: 1502-Christopher Columbus landed on Honduras 1525 - Spain begins conquest of Honduras 1821 - Honduras gains independence from Spain 1821 Honduras became a part of the Mexican empire 1823 Honduras breaks away from Mexico 1840 - Honduras becomes fully independent following the dissolution of the United Provinces of Central America.
